Does the talking, the building, the hosting, and the answering. If you work with Idea Factory, you work with Tera.
Plus a fiancé who provides emotional support and the occasional technical second opinion.
We’re led by Tera, who spent ten years as a data engineer at big tech companies. Now we build websites and software for small businesses, mostly in California. It’s the same skills applied to a smaller, friendlier scale.
Staff data engineer. Lots of backend, lots of broken things fixed.
Kept small on purpose. Every project gets the same person.
Traded a commute for a window with afternoon light.
No agency, no account managers, no handoffs.
Tera grew up in a graphic design and marketing household. Her parents did the print work for restaurants, real estate offices, the dentist around the corner. She learned early that a menu board or a logo can change how a place feels to walk into.
Then she spent a decade as a staff data engineer at large companies. Backend systems, the unglamorous stuff that runs in the background. Good practice. After a while she wanted to put those skills somewhere they’d be felt: the bakery, the therapist, the shop on the corner.
Small businesses don’t need a launch event. They need a website that loads, a form that works, and someone they can text on a Tuesday when something looks wrong. That’s what this is.

Writers, photographers, bookkeepers, and niche technical folks we've worked with before. Pulled in when a project needs hands we don't have.
